LAURA MARIA GÖRNER
born 1998 in Luckenwalde
lives and works in Düsseldorf / Berlin
"Whatever reality may be, it always seems to be
only a model of the branches of my brain.
The way I am as a human being is the way my art is.
The way you are as a human being,
so is your perception of art.
In the work of art we encounter and create a new reality."
(L. M. Görner)

Studium Freie Kunst
since 2023, Kunstakademie Düsseldorf
graduated 2022 at UE Berlin

Born in the village Luckenwalde in 1998, Laura Maria Görner completed her photography studies in 2022 at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences Berlin. Afterwards she started her studies at Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, where she lives and works as a self-employed photo artist today.
Writing was her first real way of expression. It still counts to one of her biggest passions and artistic mediums.
Laura's fascination of photography came and is about its power as a medium of not just perception but realization and can be seen especially in her bachelor thesis about the "reductionistic and realization-gaining being of photography as philosophy".
There she explains the biographically conditioned subjectivity as inseparable from artistic as well as photographic work processes and as essential for the authenticity of a work.
Photographs, texts and philosophical questions always form the fundament of Lauras artistic work.
Through Laura's sensitive observations and thought processes, her inner self is trans-formed to the outside in photobased works, multi-media installations or lyrical-essayistic texts, where she dives deep into the infinity of time and space, transcending the surface of matter and reflecting the being of herself and the world in new dimensions and perspectives.
She asks questions or attempts a momentary answer about the impermanence in life, the human being and its sensibility as well as consciousness in life's cycle of construction, deconstruction and composition.
The moment when, through art, she is suddenly closer to her own being and under-stands the complexities of this world way more, is the core of Laura's passion.
"The boundary is only where I set it for myself.
And how shall I know where it is,
until I have encountered it myself?
But the moment of encountering
is its surpassing at the same time
and so my reality expands - continuously."
(L. M. Görner)
