B.A. Photography
graduated at UE Berlin 2022, student of Prof. Katharina Mayer and Prof. Matthias Leupold
born 1998 in Luckenwalde | lives and works in Düsseldorf / Berlin
"The boundary is only where I set it for myself.
And how shall I know where it is,
until I have encountered it myself?
But the moment of the encounter
is its surpassing at the same time
and so my reality expands - continuously."
(L. M. Görner)
Born in Luckenwalde in 1998, Laura Maria Görner completed her photography studies in 2022 at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences Berlin with Prof. Katharina Mayer and Prof. Matthias Leupold.
Today she lives and works as a self-employed photo artist in Düsseldorf and Berlin.
Laura's fascination with photography as a medium of perception and realization developed at the age of twelve, when she received the old Olympus camera of her father and photographer Klaus-Peter Görner, and can be seen especially in her bachelor thesis about the "reductionistic and realization-gaining being of photo-graphy as philosophy".
There she explains the biographically conditioned subjectivity as inseparable from artistic as well as photographic work processes and as essential for the authenticity of a work.
Her photographs, texts and philosophical questions always form the fundament of her artistic work.
Through Laura's sensitive observations and thought processes, her inner self is trans-formed to the outside in photobased works, multi-media installations or lyrical-essayistic texts. In them, she asks questions or attempts a momentary answer about being human and its sensibility as well as consciousness in life's cycle of construc-tion, deconstruction and composition.
The moment when, through art, she is suddenly closer to her own being and under-stands the complexities of this world way more, is the core of Laura's passion.
"Whatever reality may be, it always seems to be
only a model of the branches of my brain.
The way I am as a human being is the way my art is.
The way you are as a human being, so is your
perception of art. In the work of art we encounter
and create a new reality."
