LAURA MARIA GÖRNER
B.A. Photography
graduated at UE Berlin 2022, student of Prof. Katharina Mayer and Prof. Matthias Leupold
born 1998 in Luckenwalde | lives and works in Düsseldorf / Berlin
The boundary is only where I set it for myself.
And how shall I know where it is, until I have encountered it myself?
But the moment of the encounter is its surpassing at the same time and so my reality expands - continuously.
The food of the artist is the outside, the world that surrounds us. We only have to look and face the encounters openly.
My art wanders in the paths of my memories, my life story, my environment, my era. Critical, sensitive or unconventional, my perceptions circle around the psychology, behavior and emotionality of the human being, its society and culture.
Each subject is meant for more than only one medium. In documentary as well as artistic works of photography and language, I leave room for experiments, for coincidences. Often cinematic, painterly as well as handcrafted medias merge with them.
I always want to create an atmosphere and a space, so people can connect through agreement or controversion.
I love the process, the unraveling in action to end up seeing the understanding in the work itself without having known it before. It's that moment when I am suddenly closer to my own being, that makes me understand the complexities of this world and myself a little more. But the unraveling does not stop. Art encounters and begins to expand as if it is a living being. So where is the border?
It's diffuse, a melting pot of contrasts, that we need to understand and to be. To understand what we are and that we are.
We live inside an explosive continuum, in repetition, distortion, transformation....
